ARGILLATHERM – THE NATURAL CLIMATE SYSTEM
We are the exclusive and certified distribution partner for Argillatherm natural climate ceilings in Mallorca.
Argillatherm is a unique ceiling cooling and heating system that improves the indoor climate and significantly reduces operating costs. This makes it ecologically, sustainably and efficiently superior to other systems.
With the patented Humid modules and a special mineral universal plaster with clay components, the pipe circuits of a heat pump are mounted on the ceiling. This ensures efficient cooling or fast-responding heating performance depending on the season. The classic heating circuit distribution, already familiar from underfloor heating, allows each room to be controlled individually, but without the sluggish response of underfloor heating. The natural climate ceiling reacts in a fraction of the time, thus saving a lot of energy.
SPECIAL PROPERTIES - 50% ENERGY SAVINGS
Thanks to the polar structure of the mineral modules and the diffusion-open plaster and paint system, the natural climate ceiling can absorb up to 2 litres of humidity per square metre. Thanks to the material composition and unique manufacturing process, these enormous amounts of moisture can be absorbed, stored and released again without causing swelling, shrinkage or cracking. Excessive moisture is impossible. This successfully counteracts the dew point condensation that occurs with conventional surface cooling systems (unless additional energy-intensive dehumidification is used). Thanks to this hygroscopic property, an Argillatherm system saves you at least 50% of the energy costs for cooling your building. What's more, it is virtually CO2-neutral, completely silent and produces no annoying draughts. The system is also ideal for heating, thus saving further costs.
Furthermore, the Argillatherm system has EPD certification. This environmental product declaration is important for sustainable building subsidies and certifies very low CO2 emissions during both manufacture and use.

MATERIAL COMPOSITION
The Humid modules are made from 100% natural materials, creating a pleasant indoor climate. Thanks to the proportion of polar 3-layer clays, the material is able to absorb high amounts of humidity without becoming overly moist and forming condensation on the surface. With less than 1% natural fibres used to reinforce the panels, the modules also meet the highest fire protection class requirements.
Polar 3-layer tones ≥ 50%
Building clay ≈ 30%
Brick powder ≈ 15%
Natural fibres < 1%
SYSTEM STRUCTURE
With a system structure of only 5,5 cm, Argillatherm products are also ideal for installation in existing buildings as part of renovation projects. This means that even older buildings can be cooled and heated in an energy-efficient and cost-effective manner.
In new buildings, Argillatherm systems can be optimally integrated into the respective planning and thus cool and heat your building invisibly, silently and efficiently.
For mechanical and thermal decoupling from the raw ceiling, 22 mm OSB boards are first installed. This works with steel-concrete ceilings, hollow brick constructions and wooden beam ceilings. The Humid modules are then screwed to the OSB boards using stainless steel screws and washers. Next, a 12 mm plastic water pipe is inserted into the mouldings of the modules in a pre-calculated system, which is then sealed with three layers of mineral universal plaster. Finally, a diffusion-open clay paint is applied, which can be mixed in all RAL colours.
THE HUMID MODULES
Four types of modules measuring 372 x 372 mm and 25 mm thick are produced for the various systems. The pipe module and distribution module are also available in a thickness of 40 mm, and the neutral module is also available in a thickness of 15 mm.

Neutral module
- The humid module – Used to distribute all heating and cooling circuits evenly across the ceiling
- The distribution module – Used to route the supply and return connections to the surrounding humid modules
- The pipe module – Connects the heating circuit distributor to the distribution module in the ceiling.
- The neutral module – Used to cover areas in the ceiling where no piping is planned.
The humid modules are 100% recyclable and can easily be reground and repressed.
ARGILLATHERM PLASTER SYSTEM
There are two different types of plaster that are approved for use with the Argillatherm system. These are universal plaster and lime plaster. Universal plaster can be used for all applications, while lime plaster is intended for healthcare buildings or laboratories. The plaster coating is applied in three layers. A filling layer to seal the modules flush with the laid pipes, a fabric layer in which a plaster fabric is inserted to reinforce the layer, and finally a top layer that is finely rubbed with a felt board. The plasters are 100% mineral and contain no organic substances.
ARGILLATHERM PAINTS
Like the plaster systems, the paints are vapour-permeable and made from sustainable natural materials. The standard paint is clay-based, but a lime-based version is available for healthcare buildings and laboratories. The paints can be tinted in any RAL colour on request.
REFERENCE PROJECTS
Argillatherm natural climate ceilings have already been installed in thousands of square metres worldwide.
ArgillaTherm GmbH, based in Göttingen, is a joint venture between industrial companies and the state of "Niedersachsen".
In collaboration with a dedicated team of civil engineers, physicists and system partners such as the Fraunhofer Institute IBP, MFPA Weimar, TU Dresden and many more, ArgillaTherm has developed and produced modular natural climate control systems for sustainable and energy-efficient building air conditioning.
Thanks to these special network symbioses and their outstanding properties, Argillatherm products have already been installed in many well-known buildings.
